An Eclectic Manual Therapy Rationale and Treatment Approach
A comprehensive course designed to provide the participant with effective manual therapy and exercise methodology for the treatment of the common orthopedic conditions in the elderly who present in the outpatient setting. The areas addressed in this course include the cervical and lumbar spine and their interaction with the shoulder, hip, knee and ankle. The techniques taught on this course are presented in a down to earth and practical manner.
1. Describe the evaluation and treatment of age specific spinal problems.
2. Describe specific manual therapy techniques for peripheral joints.
3. Describe quick and effective tests to determine if the joint is involved.
4. Describe the contributing factors to primary and secondary joint dysfunction.
5. Identify specific functional exercises and contraindications for various conditions.
Level I Introductory/no prerequisites required.
