Course Description
This seminar focuses on the analysis of pediatric swallowing issues. Identification of relevant anatomy and kinesiology is presented. Structural identification and a variety of swallowing difficulties are presented through actual swallow studies. Analysis and recommendations for intervention are discussed. Handouts included in PDF file format.
Learning Outcomes
1. Identify relevant anatomy and kinesiology important in the swallowing process.
2. Identify structures of the swallowing mechanism.
3. Identify bolus preparation, contact and propulsion difficulties.
