This seminar addresses the needs of children from birth to 3 years of age in relationship to oral-motor development, feeding, respiration and communication issues.
Topics include:
Normal Development of Respiration and Phonation; Therapeutic Management of Respiration and Phonation; Normal Oral-Motor Development; Treatment and Management of Oral-Motor Function and Feeding; Assessment and Treatment Strategies Related to Tube Feeding; Communication and Speech Issues.
1. List the developmental aspects of respiration and phonation.
2. Observe and describe respiration intervention strategies.
3. List the basic aspects of oral-motor development.
4. Observe and describe oral-motor intervention strategies.
5. Observe and describe feeding intervention strategies.
6. Describe the purpose and components of the motokinesthetic approach to articulation.
