This CEU program consists of 5 streaming videos. Some of the information in this program (parts of H2, H4 and H5) is included in the longer seminar SEM2A.

H1 Introduction to Treatment Concepts and Application of NDT Principles (16 min.)

Presented by Isabelle M. Bohman, M.S., P.T. This video discusses the basic NDT treatment approach to adult hemiplegia. Physical handling to facilitate active responses is discussed and the general principles of the NDT approach are presented.

H8 Alignment in Postural and Movement Transitions in the Normal Adult (37 min.)

Presented by Isabelle M. Bohman, M.S., P.T. Observation and analysis of movement and posture are essential to problem-solving and treatment application. This video describes, demonstrates and leads the viewer through an active understanding of the essential movement and postural components that need to be addressed in treatment. Analysis of the base of support, alignment in various postures, active trunk responses, lateral weight shifts, transitional movement components and facilitating transfers are included in this comprehensive look at movement control.

H2 Preparation for Moving into Gait (64 min.)

Presented by Isabelle M. Bohman, M.S., P.T. This video demonstrates treatment approaches to prepare the patient for independent gait. Emphasis is placed on establishing symmetry and weight bearing over the feet, organization of central trunk control and the ability to come to standing actively over the feet with weight equally distributed.

H4 Working for Better Alignment in Sitting and Standing (44min.)

Presented by Isabelle M. Bohman, M.S., P.T. This video demonstrates treatment techniques for improving trunk control for better sitting and standing. Emphasis is placed on facilitating an active trunk with the ability of the pelvis to adjust to anterior and posterior ranges, and active abdominal support. Work in standing is promoted to refine the stability and control gained in sitting.

H5 Preparing for Weight Bearing On an Arm (54 min.)

Presented by Isabelle M. Bohman, M.S., P.T. This video demonstrates treatment approaches for improving weight bearing on the involved arm and hand. Emphasis is placed on establishing proximal stability and progressing to distal support of the involved arm and hand.
